Farewell to Lee and Neil

Article posted on Tuesday, 06-Mar-2007 13:56 PM

In a surprise announcement, it has been revealed that Lee Strafford (CEO) has left PlusNet with immediate effect. Also leaving at the same time is Neil Comer (Finance Director). Although no long term replacements have yet been announced, Neil Laycock will become Acting CEO and Darren Fisher will be the Financial Controller.
The UserGroup wish both Neil and Lee all the best for the future. They have helped build PlusNet into a forward thinking ISP, often to be seen at the 'bleeding edge' of the internet. Very little extra information is available on the reasons for both departures and unless Neil or Lee reveal more then this is likely to remain.

With Lee being such a dominant force within PlusNet, it will be an interesting time ahead. Will PlusNet evolve differently and will it be better or worse for the customer?  At present it is impossible to say.

Continuing our video interviews, it is hoped we will be able to interview Neil Laycock in future.

Update - 7th March 2007

Since reporting this some mainstream and internet press have picked it up. Although PUG have been unable to confirm the accuracy of the reports, it appears Lee is claiming unfair dismissal after he was dismissed for gross misconduct on Monday.
