The Usertools/Usergroup server will be going down for emergency maintenance today at 3.30pm
Service status is available
here
This should rectify the spontaneous reboots that we have been suffering.
Apologies in advance for the downtime.
B.

Thanks Barry. Just got off the phone to Colin - expected downtime is about 30 mins.
I'm out on site currently and have limited access to things - can you keep a handle on this please

That seems a classic understatement - emergency maintenance = we are chucking the duff kit and putting in new

Now changed to BBYW Option 2 and seeing what difference it makes
Wish I had changed earlier as I have seen very little difference

Just to add - it appears the change was unsuccessful, so we are waiting for a Plan B.
Watch this space (assuming that you can still...)
Best Wishes - James

There will be another attempt to replace the failing hardware tomorrow sometime between 06:00 and 07:30 - Still dependent on formal sign off, but let's hope that this time we can get it fixed.

I've replaced the hardware this morning and it all looks good so far.
It's now on a Supermicro with dual Xeons (without an SMP aware kernel) as opposed to the self-build box that it was on before.
Best Regards,
Dunk.
