Having used it for a few days I like the new scheme.
The parts I want to read on the forum page are clear and distinct. I prefer it to the equivalent page on the Community Site

Jim PlusNet PAYG RIN (no longer)
Now changed to BBYW Option 2 and seeing what difference it makes
Wish I had changed earlier as I have seen very little difference

Thanks for the positive feedback. Unfortunately, my speech writer, Ms Halle Berry was unavailable to draft a 40 minute response thanking everyone from Bill Gates to Nelson Mandela and David Beckham  cool

>>> The current offering is really horrible guys.

I'm really very busy atm and dont even seem to have time to devote to my own site which I'd like.
Afraid Im guilty of the prevalent magenta scheme, so hands up to that. Sad
Ideally I would have liked to have had time to do some more grey graphics to replace some of the magenta bars.
But when it was 1am the morning before the PN site went live... and we were still working at about 5am.. replacing the title bar with the same magenta shading I'd got open for the main header was the easiest option.
I didn't have time to do anything during the next day.. but me and dave still went without sleep the following night to try and make a few more changes in the CSS.

Daves put a lot of hard work in trying to tidy up some of the loose ends which weve inherited from the old scheme, and we ran into many hiccups when changing something impacted on something else somewhere else which it shouldnt.

When and if I get change I'd love to spend a lot more time doing a proper theme.. and all in CSS..  but until someone gets chance to do it properly.. then we're having to muddle through Im afraid. :/
Knowing how long it took me to do the CSS and design for my own site and forums, its not something that can be done overnight.Sad

The orange still in the IE must be a browser caching problem, because the new images were uploaded the same night.

I'm never going to live that one down, am I :/

I don't actually have any issues with the magenta - it's a colour I like very much. Silver/grey plus white plus magenta tones very well - what struck discords was (a) the darkened PUG logo (maybe it needs a lighter/brighter background, or differently-coloured cogs?)  (b) the magenta blocks combined with what looks like shocking-pink lettering (below the logo and at the very foot), maroon bars at the top of the forums, red lettering on the forum titles and bright red PUG member listings down the bottom.

Obviously I wasn't aware at the outset that you and Dave had been up all night working on it ... and mercifully I remain blissfully unaware of the vagaries of css and etomite.  Give me straightforward plain html pages every time.  But the point is taken that I should have chosen my words more carefully  blush  and I really didn't mean to upset either of you.

I'm also well aware (from my PUG-NDA'd days) that some people have (various) visual issues with the site I build Smiley  so like I said before, 'whatever works for you guys'.

Regards,

Penny.
