All this stuff that's put into foods these days that's supposed to make kids hyperactive....   why can't they be used to buck up the older ones amongst us? Eh? Eh?  cool

Probably because the older ones are too busy eating all the really unhealthy food dripping in fat and containing all sorts of diseases that will kill us all off.

Found out the other day that my nan and grandad go through 1lb of (proper) butter a week between then and they are doing very well at 93 and 92 respectively.  If you listen to the reports on what we should and shouldn't eat then then they would be dead 50 years ago.

Deep-fried Mars bar anyone? My Mum was the same...  lard-tastic actually! She lived until she was 90! It's life that's a terminal disease!   tongue

haha yeah

but dont forget, because people force grow food now - it has less nutrients in, so as kids your parents would have been getting anywhere between 5-20x the amount of vitamins and minerals that you would of got, and as the next generation i would be getting even less... (new methods suck - i cant remember where i got the 5-20x from.. but it was in the paper not too long ago IIRC.)

also you'll probably find they eat much smaller portions than you do, or they eat much less often, so having excessively fattening food makes little difference Smiley

Well that'll mean you'll be getting 5-20x the number of sprouts over Christmas this year to make sure you get your proper levels of nutrients. sick

Oxygen is only deadly in the form of Dihydrogen Monoxide.

Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment.

You mean do the preservatives help to keep people alive longer? I reckon it's more likely to be the booze that pickles everything! You know how long pickles last!!  cool
