Just spotted this
Quote
We currently reject mail from senders with no reverse DNS, we will be changing this so that less DNS queries are required, thus saving even more processing time. We anticipate that this will reduce possible delays on this part of the process from 2-4 seconds to zero seconds.
Is this change liable to create an increase in spam hitting the spam checking system and also the customer

Now changed to BBYW Option 2 and seeing what difference it makes
Wish I had changed earlier as I have seen very little difference

I read that as no functional change, just improving the efficiency of the lookups to determine if there is a rDNS.

Funny I read this

as if we don't reject them we don't need to do the lookup

Would someone like to tell me that this process or the 'fix' to it or some other SPAM related nonsense going on behind my back isn't the cause of my important e-mails apparently disappearing ?  Clicky for Linky to the relevant thread.

Where's that PN quote taken from BTW ?

I see what you mean. I think it might revolve around the word "less" - if they were scrapping that check surely it would be "no"?

Unless there are other reasons for a DNS check - then it would be less. evil

Thanks for links, I must have missed reading that post on pn.service.status, probably because I wasn't that fussed about or affected by e-mail delays at the time !
