I think that all lager should be banned and those that used to drink it should be forced to try bitter and real-ales.

Yea!  A like minded soul   Our local MicroBrewery (Buntingford Brewery) as well as its normal range of very hoppy bitters does a "Cross over" bitter called 'Silence' at 5.2%  Very pale bitter but brewed with a Lager (Cough! spit!) yeast. Very palatable
