news1, news2, news3 - The famous force9 news servers, often they werent working but IIRC news3 was the more reliable one. And since we are on news servers the move from Worksop apparently didn't go as smoothly as what was hoped, with the news server being in Nick Lott's car boot and said car then stuck at a roundabout, it kept force9.social.chat busy with banter for a while (mostly on news3 ;-p ).

The format has become popular for distributing documents where preserving the original layout is important e.g. manuals, e-books etc. To view a PDF document requires Adobe Reader or similar software. RADIUS - Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service, an authentication and accounting system used by many Internet Service Providers (ISPs). SNR - Signal to Noise Ratio (often wrongly used to mean SNR Margin - SNR is the amount of signal on a line relative to the amount of electrostatic noise, expressed in decibels (dB). A SNR Margin is the number of dB above the "true" SNR required to maintain a connection. E.g. the line may require 36dB of SNR to sync. The current SNR may be 40dB. This equates to a SNR margin of +4dB. It is possible for the SNR margin to drop below zero, but this often results in the line dropping and resyncing.
